This workshop on Pilot Lines for emerging energy storage technologies will convene experts across the entire ecosystem to discuss our present state of affairs, identify the critical needs for pilot line capabilities, and propose approaches to resolve this key bottleneck to US energy storage innovation. Invitations extend to all industry leaders, investors, pilot line resources (hardware, software, human), and researchers from academics, national laboratories, small, and large companies.

Pilot lines as a bottleneck: Gaps in U.S. pilot-line infrastructure are slowing the transition from lab-scale energy storage innovation to commercial manufacturing.
Ecosystem assessment: Evaluation of current pilot-line resources (equipment, software, workforce) and lessons from both struggling and successful regional ecosystems.
Scale-up challenges: Economic and technical hurdles faced by startups and innovators in manufacturing readiness and commercialization.
